It really is true that not all Santas are the real deal. For the last 9 years we had been blessed with the most amazing Santa. Unfortunately, last year we lost the man that truly embodied the true Christmas spirit. See our tribute to him below.
We have been lucky enough to find our new Santa last year and he is so full of laughs and ENERGY. Our Santa does not sit on a chair all day requesting Christmas lists. He jumps and plays with you or your child. He is always game for fun.
So try something new this year. Our Santa is the real deal. His beard is pullable and his smile genuine. His belly even laughs like a bowl full of jelly. And he doesn’t just sit there. Get ready to jump, tie him up with lights, or be his reindeer.
Santa Sessions at Big Apple Portraits offer a unique Santa experience. We realize it’s much more fun to play with Santa then to just sit on his lap. Our mini sessions in the studio are on November 6th and 21st. Our outdoor sessions with Santa in Central Park are on December 5th. By appointment only. No waiting in line.
Schedule your session before time runs out and Santa’s sleigh pulls out of town.
Remembering Santa Chester
On April 25, 2020, we lost an important part of our studio family. It is with a very heavy heart, that we let all of you know that the man we called Santa for the past 10 years has passed on. It has been a struggle to put the words together to write this as he held such a special place in our hearts.
Santa Chester was a truly magical person. Santa became part of our annual tradition of Santa Sessions in 2010. Many of you have been seeing him since his journey with us began. Kids have an idea of what Santa should look like, sound like, act like. Being Santa is more than a red suit, black boots, and a real white beard. Being Santa means that you should have a jolly laugh that resonates through your heart. Being Santa is a job that you must love and you must love kids, pets, adults, all of it. Santa Chester was all of those things and more. He had a special gift to make children giggle, whether it was offering sandwiches as Christmas gifts or getting kids to wish you a “Merry Cheese-mas”
He was such a trooper through all of our crazy ideas, taking each one of them in stride and adding his own level of magic to each of them.
Santa had a story for every single occasion and could talk your ear off.
Outside of our studio, Santa Chester, was a Santa for many other families and organizations. He was also a family man with kids and grandkids. During the warmer months, Santa became Tink, a jolly pirate and had a large family of pirates that he worked with regularly as well.
He will be sorely missed by us here in the studio.
Thank you Santa Chester for so many wonderful memories and pictures that help to keep your spirit alive.
